Great work sony? Review by TT
Design Features Value Performance The XPERIA X10a looks like a phone owners dream. Elegent, slim, and a good camera. But the fact is that the XPERIA is not a very good phone at all. (Posted on 1/07/10)

A nice design let down by average software Review by PetesBodyParts
Design Features Value Performance I have both a HTC Desire and an Xperia X10 and find myself going back to the Desire because:
1. X10 is sluggish to use, moving between screens and app response.
2. Soft keyboard on such a large screen is not as good as Desires.
3. Battery life is questionable.
4. USB port on X10 is under a cover on the top! Why!!
5. Screen is plastic so you need to be extra careful.
6. Built-in dialer looks like am 8 year old was given the job.
7. Android 1.6? C'mon Sony Ericsson , your getting behind!
Look, I really want to like the X10 with it's massive screen and great camera, so hopefully Sony Ericsson will address the bulk of the software issues sometime soon and I can move back to using it daily. (Posted on 30/06/10) -
Looks can be decieving Review by Cheng See
Features Value Performance Design I was enamoured by the huge screen and beautiful design of this mobile. But all this beauty is not matched up with great usability and performance. The Interface is at times are sluggish; and the touch buttons are not too responsive. The plastic (not glass) screen smudges easily- it is cumbersome to clean the screen after every use. The media player interface (named Mediascape) is not practical and user-friendly, navigating through songs are not fluid. Finally, it is still using an outdated version of Android when competitors are up to date with their Android versions.
However, not all is bad about the phone. The phone packs an 8 megapixel camera which "suprisingly" easy to use. The media player might not be user firendly but audio quality is the best i heard from a mobilephone. The screen is high resolution which helps reading smaller text and produces sharper images.
Conclusion, the Sony Xperia is a beautiful phone, but it is hampered by not-so-great performance and interface. The phrase "Looks can be quite decieving" best suits the impression I have with this mobile. (Posted on 10/05/10)
