An excellent consumer smart phone with a truly innovative and intuitive OS Review by Raynor
Features Value Performance Design WebOS is a truly amazing OS and really can't fault it. Less clinical than iOS and more user-friendly than Android, the experience is altogether quite charming, actually. The interfaces are beautifully designed and the gesture controls become second nature in no time.
The device feels comfortable in the hand, and the capacitive touchscreen is incredibly accurate (in fact, I found it a little more precise than the iPhone), and the ripple feedback is a nice touch.
The keyboard won't be for everyone, and other reviews have made much of the 'sharp' ridge and the cramped keyboard, but I think this comes down to preference, because the ridge didn't pose a problem to me, and even with my stubby, thick fingers, I found typing to a be breeze after a very short adjustment period.
The old drawbacks for me are battery life (which is still on par with most smartphones like the iPhone) and the limited access to the App Catalogue due to being in Australia, however, homebrew app solutions remedy this. (Posted on 25/11/10)
