10 out of 10 Review by sw
Design Features Value Performance This would have to be hands down the best phone i have owned and maybe ever will own.
I have had this phone for about 2 years now and apart from slowing down due to full memory the phone works perfectly.
The qwerty keyboard works well, the camera is descent, the design feels sturdy and strong and the menu and home screen layout is great.
If you are looking for a good business phone with a qwerty keyboard this is the phone to be looking at! (Posted on 19/11/11) -
Great buy, but not without some flaws. Review by Starry
Performance Design Features Value Recently picked this up to replace my iPhone 3GS - even after vowing never to buy another Nokia after the shocker that was the N97. I've had this phone for a few weeks now and am, on the whole, quite impressed with it. The build of this phone is good and the metal accents/backing makes it feel very sturdy. Unlike many other Nokia phones I've had in the past, it seems to run with minimal lag/slowdown. The keyboard is large enough to type with (even with fat fingers) and the email functions - though a nuisance to set up initially - work well. The inbuilt document viewers are nice to have for work purposes and involve less playing around to get working than with the iPhone.
One thing that does bother me a lot with this phone is the pathetic excuse for a speaker. The ringing volume is passable but music is tinny and quiet, even on full volume. Listening with earphones isn't much better volume-wise. If you have any intention of listening to music with your phone you may want to reconsider this one.
Coming from the iPhone as well, the Ovi store apps are ridiculously expensive ($6 for a basic SMS addon? $20 for a game?!) but this lies with the developers and not the phone itself - though is also something of which to be aware.
On the whole, this is a good phone and represents good value for a sub-$500 smartphone. It isn't without its flaws, however, and isn't suitable for everybody. (Posted on 26/07/10) -
Solid and reliable! A worthy successor to the Nokia E71! Review by Jay Presley
Design Features Value Performance My initial impression after getting the phone was it's really light weight. I also have an E71 and comparing both phones, the E72 is definitely lighter. The changes in the keyboard was also welcome. The E71 had a cramped keyboard which made it easy to press the wrong keys. Now the E72 has bigger sized keys and much easier to type like my old E61.
The 5 megapixel camera that comes with E72 is very good and the photo quality is excellent! Nokia has also done great job with the optical navi key which is easy to navigate, very intuitive and configurable to suit your requirements.
The Symbian OS S60v3 FP2 works great on the E72 and is very fast and has a plethora of features to suit the ever discerning business user.
Overall, I found the experience of using the E72 a pleasure and made my life much easier. The E72 is a soild and reliable phone and a worthy successor to the E71. (Posted on 18/04/10)
