LG Optimus 2X is the world’s first smartphone with a dual-core processor. Along with more powerful multimedia features, the LG Optimus 2X’s high-performance Tegra 2 processor makes for faster, smoother web browsing and applications and lets users multitask with virtually no screen lag.

The LG Optimus 2X can connect wirelessly to any DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) compatible digital device such as HD TVs for a console-like gaming experience taking full advantage of the phone’s HDMI mirroring, accelerometer and gyro sensor. Thesmartphone also includes both rear and front facing cameras, microSD memory expandability, Micro-USB port and a hefty 1500mAh battery. The phone will initially be released with Android 2.2 (Froyo) and will be upgradeable to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).

Depending how lucky you are it could be awesome or the worst phone ever Review by John
Performance Design Features Value Firstly; the phone CAN have a major flaw, if you're unlucky you get one of the bad ones; The bad ones reset all the time, silently freeze up and need the battery pulled to restart as well as just die battery wise.
Then you'll have to do the warranty dance.
But if you have better luck (or a warranty replacement) you'll hopefully get one of the ones that doesn't do that, and while mine wasn't resetting and freezing it was GORGEOUS, the screen is second only to the Super AMOLED screens on the galaxy S2 and the iPhone 4, and even then only by a hairs width.
The form of the phone fits comfortably in hand and has a weight that feels like you have something more then a simple phone.
The touchscreen is wonderfully responsive and the phone runs so incredibly smoothly with the dual core grunt that the whole experience is improved.
The sound is OK, the inbuilt speaker is passable and the headphone sound quality is higher middle of the range. Call quality is similar with reception being about average.
Battery life for me wasn't so bad (when it was behaving) it wont last two days but if you fail to charge it for whatever reason you can probably stretch it through most of your second day.
The price to spec point is fantastic, unless you get a dodgy one. Though you can most likely get a bad one replaced, it does add trouble to your purchase and trouble has a different monetary price for some people. (Posted on 29/08/11) -

Don't be enticed by the cheap price, this phone has major issues Review by Gan
Design Features Value Performance The 2x is an example of a gorgeous device run down by rubbish software. The 2x is a powerful phone sporting tegra, which is great for gaming on the go, and the phone is snappy and jumps between apps with ease. But there is no point to a phone that random reboots and freezes requiring a battery pull, and with the 2x this happens daily. When the phone freezes, you become uncontactable for the duration of the freeze, until you remove the battery.
This is a major problem, because the above issues only seem to occur when the phone is left on its own, be it a few minutes, or several hours. During this time, you may think your phone has gone a bit quiet, reaching for you phone only to find that it is completely locked up and unresponsive. This is a general fault that plagues all 2x's - not just unlucky units.
Plenty of news coverage has been had on this issue:

http://mobile.engadget.com/2011/05/11/lg-optimus-2x-is-worlds-first-dual-core-phone-necessitating-an/
There is word that a fix is coming soon:
http://www.jizmo.net/2011/05/optimus-2x-random-reboot-issue-may-be-fixed-ill-believe-it-when-i-see-it/
But who knows when. LG have been slack with updates, and not everyone gets updates at the same time, as different firmware is rolled out to different regions and some have priority over others.
To summarise: unless you plan on rooting this phone and putting a custom rom on it (which voids your warranty), this phone is not for you. Do not even consider running this on stock. The experience out of the box is nothing short of terrible.

Great phone, awesome value Review by Mark
Value Performance Design Features I've just ordered another for my wife, after having the phone for 2 weeks myself. You can't get a better phone for the price. Only complaint is battery life which drains quickly, especially if you are tinkering with it all the time. I have just installed Juice Defender which has made some improvement, hopefully I'll get two days charge out of it now. (Posted on 25/04/11)
