Dell Venue Pro

Giving up my iPhone was truly a challenge and one I did not think I would make, but after using the Dell Venue Pro for several weeks I knew there was no going back and I rushed out and bought one.
WP7 is lovely and smooth and although the Metro design takes a bit to get used to, once you 'get it' you begin to appreciate the true simplicity of it.
WP7 presents all the information you want when you first look at your screen, there at your fingertips.
The slide out keyboard feels solid and strong; nothing about this phone feels week or flimsy. It is solid and well balanced device.
The screen is bright and vibrant. Games and application run very well and I have not have the device lock up or crash in the time I have had it.
The updates from Microsoft have been smooth with no issues.
Updating your personal ring tone is not the smoothest process and one the thing that needs to be addressed in WP7.
I cannot stress how over the moon I am with this phone and the WP7 experience has been fantastic.

An amazingly well built phone that' only slightly let down by the lack of maturity of Windows Phone 7 OS.

PROS
+ Windows Phone 7 runs buttery smooth
+ Curved glass display looks and feels great
+ Great battery life
+ Super high build quality with great attention to detail
+ Fantastic hardware keyboard
+ Excellent on-screen keyboard
+ Loud speaker

CONS
- Windows Phone 7 still lacks key features and some available features are not yet enabled in Australia. At a guess 6+ months before MS gets Australia running properly on Windows LIve etc. Not a show stopper. Just Annoying.
- No user-accessible microSD storage
- Awkwardly-placed power button
- No HSPA+
- Camera is terrible. MS software problem not Dell. Expect patch to fix this.
- Marketplace locks up occasionally. MS problem again. Expect patch to fix this. (Posted on 21/03/11)
