BlueSIM Desktop Phone

The BlueSIM Desktop Phone is a wireless extension to your Mobile Cell Phone. By utilising the rich features offered by Bluetooth technology users can make and receive calls from their mobile phone sim card via the BlueSIM Desktop Phone.

The BlueSIM Desktop Phone also offers music streaming and control of music enabled Bluetooth devices. The streaming can be directly controlled by the BlueSIM Phone.

* Direct Dialling from Keypad
Directly dial numbers onto the ergonomic keypad, in addition a job wheel offers easy scrolling of selected functions.

* Audio Centre Music Streaming
Stream music from your Bluetooth enabled device directly to the loudspeaker. Listen to your favourite tunes while not on an active call. Devices equipped with AVRCP can also control the audio player directly via the BlueSIM Phone.

* Reduced Radiation
Users will not be exposed to the radiation emitted by mobiles phones, effects of radiation to mobile users is still unknown. BlueSIM Desktop Phones reduces user exposed to this.

* Advanced Phone Book
Built in memory can download and store 250 entries. Access to SIM card, missed calls, received calls and dialled numbers are also available by the Bluetooth PBAP protocol (on support devices).

* Hands Free
Crisp clear hands free conversations are available with the BlueSIM Desktop Phone, the enhanced hardware and circuitry available inside out performs most mobile handsets for clarity.

* Professional Headset Option
Modular RJ11 Headset Jack is available to connect a professional headset adding a new dimension to the hands free experience.

* 8 Phones Pairing
Store up to 8 different Bluetooth enabled devices to the BlueSIM Desktop Phone. Together with the auto connect feature, any phone within the working range will connect automatically to the phone once has been paired to the BlueSIM Phone (only 1 phone can connect at anytime).

The call quality of this unit is better than you standard mobile device, was most impressed with its handsfree quality, loud and clear. Most of my callers report the sound is better than using the mobile. Would recommend to anyone on the mobile all day. (Posted on 1/09/10)

On the positive side, call quality is no worse than from a land line, so this device can replace the landline phone entirely.
But, being a new product there are a few quirks to iron-out including:
- device takes a while to come to live after being plugged in. I was sure device was dead on arrival until I inserted the backup battery and the wall charger and then waited for a minute, then it finaly turned on.
- instruction manual is incomplete and has a few mistakes. for example, it say press "OK" to start pairing whereas you need to press "menu" to get to pairing option. it also omits to tell you you need to disconnect a currently connected phone to pair your second phone. So, you basically set it up by trial and error, be prepared to spend a couple of hours to set this up provided you are good with technology.
- this seems not to be a true multi-point blue tooth device. that is you can pair with several phones, but only one can be "connected" at the time. for example, if you have two mobile phone, then bluesim can only receive calls from one, whichever one you choose as "connected".
- importing phonebook from mobile to bluesim resulted in bluesim hanging. Good thing is there is no need for this feature, you can start the call from your mobile and it is automatically picked up by bluesim. (Posted on 16/07/10)
